# Cricket Blog: Winners, Records and How We Count Them

Source: https://cricketin.org/blog

18+ Betting money on cricket carries a direct risk of financial loss, and it can become an addiction. Real-money online gaming is banned across India under the PROG Act 2025, which came into force on 1 May 2026.

If betting is already costing you money you need, or sleep, or people close to you, the free Tele-MANAS helpline is **14416**, and it runs in 20 languages. Our [page on help for gambling harm](/guides/help-for-gambling-harm-india) lists what else exists.

Every article here is built from the open ball-by-ball archive: we parse the match files ourselves, publish a table only when the season is complete, and say so plainly when the record has a gap.

## Every champion, league by league

Winners lists for nine competitions. Every final is counted from the ball-by-ball record rather than copied from another site, and each page says which seasons the open archive cannot cover.

## Who writes this blog

Every article here is written by a named editor and checked by a second one before it goes out. Nothing is copied from a league summary: each number is recalculated from the open ball-by-ball archive, and where the archive has a gap the page says so instead of filling it.

That rule is why some seasons have a champion here but no points table. A champion comes from a single match, and the archive nearly always holds finals. A table needs every match of the season, and when one is missing we leave the table out rather than publish a standing we cannot stand behind.

The people behind the bylines are listed on our [editorial team](/authors) page, and the standards they work to are in our [editorial policy](/editorial-policy).

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Where do the numbers on this blog come from?

Every table here is recalculated from the open ball-by-ball archive published by [Cricsheet](https://cricsheet.org/) under the Open Data Commons Attribution License, not copied from a league summary or another site. Each page names the person who wrote it and the person who checked it.

### Why does a season have a champion here but no points table?

Because the two need different amounts of data. A champion comes from a single match, and the archive nearly always holds finals. A table needs every match of the season, and when one is missing we leave the table out rather than publish a standing we cannot stand behind.

### How often is this updated?

Match data refreshes on a schedule rather than ball by ball, and every page carries a Last checked date so you can see when a human last verified it. Where a season is still in progress, the page says which matches the archive covers so far.

### Why are there no bookmaker or app links here?

Real-money online gaming is banned in India under the PROG Act 2025, and Section 6 prohibits advertising it directly or indirectly. This site names no operator, ranks none and links to none. What it explains is how the games and the maths work.

### I found a mistake. How do I report it?

Through the contact routes listed on our [contact page](/contact). Confirmed errors go into the public [corrections log](/corrections) with the date and what changed, rather than being edited away quietly.
